ROCKY 2019 sticker spotted; potential Democratic gubernatorial candidate still weighing decision

Rocky Adkins might be still deciding on a run for governor, but there are what appear to be campaign stickers carrying an apparent campaign logo, ROCKY 2019, already floating around Kentucky.

The logo, with the letters ROC in white and KY in blue, were spotted this week on a car in Georgetown, Kentucky.

A call to Adkins about the bumper sticker was not returned on Wednesday evening, but a spokesperson for Adkins told Pure Politics that the Sandy Hook Democrat has “no ties” to the sticker.

Adkins reiterated through the spokesperson he is being encouraged to run for the Governor’s Mansion in 2019, but is still discussing the race with his family and will decide “in the weeks ahead.”

Pure Politics spoke with Adkins in late April about a potential run; at that time the 31-year member of the House of Representatives said his family was on board for a run, and he would decide in the near future.

The House Minority Floor Leader is one of several high profile Democrats considering a race for governor in 2019, state Attorney General Andy Beshear, Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes and former Auditor Adam Edelen are all considering a run in the Democratic primary.
