Rand Paul's PAC enters Senate races with message of stop sending money abroad

U.S. Sen. Rand Paul is spending his political — and real — capital in helping Republican senate candidates in three battleground races near Kentucky and said he is likely to get involved in a fourth on behalf of Missouri’s Republican U.S. Senate candidate, Todd Akin.
Paul told Pure Politics his leadership political action committee, Rand-PAC was investing money against Democratic senators Joe Manchin of West Virginia, Sherrod Brown of Ohio, Bill Nelson of Florida and potentially Claire McCaskill in Missouri.
“We’re spending money to let voters know that their (Democratic) senators voted to give money to countries that are basically burning our flags and not protecting our embassies. And we’ve got needs at home here. We’ve got roads that are decaying. We’ve got bridges in need of repair,” he said.
Paul also discussed with Pure Politics why he didn’t think either party had the will to take on reforms to Medicare and Social Security. Paul also said he expects Congress to handle the expiring Bush-era tax cuts by extending them for another year, which he said only causes more uncertainty.
