Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner Ryan Quarles has been named the chairman of Ag America, the national organization that represents Republican Commissioners and Secretaries of Agriculture.
“Ryan Quarles exemplifies the future of agriculture, and the future of the Republican Party,” said Ag America President Tim Barnes in a press release. “When he was elected Commissioner in 2015 he was the youngest statewide elected official, of any party, in the country. He’s the face of our ag future and we look forward to his leadership of Ag America.”
The GOP agriculture group was founded in 2013 in direct response to the lack of unified national strategy supporting proven agriculture leaders, according to a press release.
“Agriculture is of vital importance to my family, our state, and our nation,” Quarles said in a statement. “It’s truly an honor to be asked to serve in this national role and I look forward to the opportunity to help shape national ag policy over my term.”
Ag America promotes itself as the only organization providing a unified political strategy supporting GOP ag future at the local, state, and national level.
