PRIMARY 2018 | Jim Gray concedes democratic primary for sixth congressional district seat

05/22/2018 08:43 PM

Following one of the most closely-watched primary races in Kentucky, Lexington Mayor Jim Gray conceded the race for the commonwealth’s sixth U.S. Congressional district seat early Tuesday night. Retired Marine fighter pilot and political newcomer Amy McGrath won the democratic nomination and will take on republican Rep. Andy Barr in November.

“It was a spirited campaign and I know that Andy Barr is in for the fight of his life,” Gray said. “I am ready to help Amy and I want all of you to join me. It’s time for us to stand with Amy and to continue this effort to do all we can to send her to Washington.”
