Morning recap: Trump backing new immigration bill, bipartisan health care hearing planned

President Donald Trump is supporting a proposal to cut legal immigration into the U.S. by half within 10 years. The bill, put forward on Wednesday, would award points to prospective immigrants based on several categories. The Reforming American Immigration for a Strong Economy Act, or the RAISE Act, would award points based on a person’s age, education level and English proficiency.
