Morning recap: New FBI director & White House downplaying report that Trump crafted his son's statement

Christopher Wray will be the next director of the FBI, the U.S. Senate confirming his nomination on Tuesday. Only five Democratic Senators voted against Wray’s confirmation, the final vote was 92-5. According to CNN there have only ever been six no votes against an FBI director’s confirmation, and five of them were cast on Tuesday.
