As millions of voters head to the polls on Tuesday, there will be a new group of Americans casting their votes for the first time ever.
Crescent Hill Baptist Church in Louisville hosted a mock polling location on Sunday as part of its New Citizens Vote initiative. The effort helps to educate new citizens on the voting process to ensure they feel as comfortable as possible on Election Day.
Volunteers walked participants through the voting experience, explaining everything from what to bring with them and how to navigate through the ballot. It’s a freedom that many will take advantage of for the first time ever.
No candidates, political parties or legislation are endorsed or opposed by the New Citizens Vote initiative, and all informational materials are distributed free of charge.
