Democratic Congressional candidate Amy McGrath will be flying onto television sets across the 6th District this week when the University of Kentucky Wildcats play in the NCAA tournament.

The retired Marine Lieutenant Colonel is following-up her two viral campaign videos with her first paid television campaign commercial to reach Kentuckians with a 60-second spot, titled “We’ll See.”

The ad will launch during the first half of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament game between the University of Kentucky and Davidson. The introductory ad is a shorter version of her announcement video that focused on her career in the military and what she seeks to accomplish if elected.

“This week’s huge upset by fellow Marine Conor Lamb in the Pennsylvania special election shows Americans want a new generation of leaders who put country over party, even in places where Democrats haven’t done as well in years past,” McGrath said in a statement. “It’s especially meaningful to launch my first ad during the first NCAA tournament game of the Kentucky Wildcats, the team I’ve been rooting for all my life.”

McGrath faces Lexington Mayor Jim Gray, state Sen. Reggie Thomas , Theodore Green, Daniel Kemph, and Geoff Young who are all vying for the Democratic nomination on May 22. Republican incumbent U.S. Rep. Andy Barr is seeking to hold his seat, and has been buoyed by a recent visit from Vice President Mike Pence.

The House Majority PAC, an organization aimed at electing Democrats to Congress, has made a half a million dollar TV ad reservation for the end of the campaign in the Congressional District.
