McCain and Paul talk defense budget and McConnell reassures Republicans Mitt Romney is right man for the job

Kentucky U.S. Senators Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul took the stage Wednesday night and received very different receptions.

Senator McConnell’s speech revolved around what he called the past four long years of President Obama’s term and the problems he sees Obama has created.

McConnell praised Mitt Romney early on in his speech, reassuring the American public that he believes Mitt Romney was the right man to be the next President of the United States.

Senator Paul used his time on the stage to address the issues he sees in the country as well as why he believes Mitt Romney is the right choice to lead the GOP.

Paul has expressed over the past week the need for the Republican party to take a closer look at the country’s defense spending, which he brought up in the speech for his father’s mini-convention and again in his RNC speech.

Another Republican who is very vocal about defense spending is former Republican Presidential nominee and Arizona Senator John McCain. Ryan Alessi caught up with Senator McCain in the convention center to ask him about the defense budget.
