Kentucky schools receive donations for classroom projects

Hundreds of teachers throughout Kentucky are receiving money to help fund classroom projects.

Ripple has donated $29 million to Through the crowdfunding website, teachers are able to create classroom project requests to support their students’ needs, and donors are able to give to projects they choose. The $29 million donation helped to fulfill every request on the list, helping students receive books, school supplies, technology, field trips and other resources.

Teachers in the cash-strapped Commonwealth are taking advantage of the donor program. In all, 439 projects have been funded in Kentucky from 351 teachers at 234 schools.

Teachers taking advantage of the program are from counties throughout the state, including Jefferson and Fayette. The requests vary from STEM projects to donations for Chromebooks.
