Democrats get their turn to get the nation’s attention this week as the Democratic National Convention convenes in Charlotte.
Pure Politics caught up with some of the Democratic delegates from Kentucky before they left to see what they are expecting from the conference.
One of the delegates will be Paul Whalen, who serves as the chair of the Campbell County Democratic Party. Whalen said the differences between the two parties will become apparent.
Col Owens, the Democratic party chair in Kenton County, said he’s optimistic that the Democrats getting the last word will give President Barack Obama a boost.
While President Obama will be the focus, Owens said the convention will be as much about showcasing the up and comers of the party.
