Republican gubernatorial candidate Hal Heiner is turning to Kentuckians in his latest television ad airing across the commonwealth starting Tuesday.
Nine people speak in the ad pointing to Heiner’s business background and bolstering the former Louisville Metro Council member’s presentation as a “Frankfort outsider.”
“The insiders can’t get anything accomplished,” says one speaker in the 30-second television spot.
“Our state needs something besides politicians,” says another.
In the ad, Heiner’s experience as a businessman who has made payrolls and balanced budgets was touted by speakers.
In a press releases accompanying the ad, Heiner’s campaign says the candidate has attracted and kept over 4,000 jobs in Kentucky since founding Capstone Realty in 1997.
Heiner worked his way through college as a janitor, short-order cook and dishwasher before working as an engineer designing water systems and reclaiming mine lands.
Heiner faces former U.S. Senate candidate Matt Bevin, Agriculture Commissioner James Comer and former Kentucky Supreme Court Justice Will T. Scott in the May 19 primary.
