Gov. Steve Beshear told reporters in the state Capitol that Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Ashley Judd has been trying to meet with him and that’s he will “be arranging” to talk with her.
Judd has been meeting in the last week with high profile Democratic donors in Louisville – which Pure Politics first reported .
WFPL’s Kenny Colston asked Beshear if he had been in contact with Judd regarding her possible challenge to U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell in 2014.
“She’s been trying to arrange and will be arranging some more conversations here in the next month or so,” Beshear said after being asked if the two were talking about her possible Senate run.
Beshear said he thought she could be a “very serious candidate” but that he would encourage as many people as possible to run against McConnell.
