From 'Pure Politics': Blogger Joe Sonka talks about the new frontier of covering politics

The fountain of information about Kentucky politics no longer springs from the classic news sources, such as the Louisville Courier-Journal, Lexington Herald-Leader, Kentucky Enquirer, Associated Press, WHAS-11, Kentucky Public Radio or CNHI News Service.
Political blogs regularly provide perspectives and analysis — often with a particular viewpoint. And they also break news and are first to publish documents or revelations.
I recently spoke with Joe Sonka, Lexington-based publisher of Barefoot and Progressive , about his work and bloggers’ role in the rapidly changing landscape of Kentucky political coverage. Here’s our segment from Pure Politics:
