FOP says Chandler is "easy choice" for endorsement in 6th Dist. Congressional race

The Kentucky Fraternal Order of Police have made their choice in the 6th Dist. Congressional race, choosing incumbent Democratic Congressman Ben Chandler of Versailles Wednesday.

The FOP said in a statement sent out by the Chandler campaign that the decision was an “easy choice.”

“We can always count on Congressman Chandler to stand up for law enforcement in Washington,” said Mike Hettich, Kentucky’s National FOP Trustee. “From his time as Attorney General to today, there’s a reason Ben Chandler is the only congressman from Kentucky to earn an “A” rating from the national FOP, and his strong support for our police made this endorsement an easy choice.”

Chandler faces Republican Andy Barr, who is an attorney from Lexington, in a rematch of the 2010 race.

“I am deeply honored to receive the endorsement of the Kentucky State Fraternal Order of Police,” said Chandler. “Our police officers risk their lives to keep our communities safe, and we have an obligation to protect these brave men and women by making sure they have the resources they need to do their jobs. I have always supported our police and will continue that unequivocal support in the future.”

The FOP and other public employees might be waking up and discovering the Andy Barrs and Rand Pauls of the world are out to lower their standard of living and they are very successfully hiding this agenda. A “more limited government” means bye bye to you.

This is why I no longer contribute to the FOP, because I want my charitable contributions going to fallen officer families….and not politicians.
