Cathy Bailey, the U.S. Ambassador to Latvia during George W. Bush’s presidency, didn’t rule out interest in being a Republican candidate for governor when the seat opens up in 2015.
Bailey has been a prolific fundraiser for Kentucky Republicans. On Saturday, she hosted an event at her home for state House Republican candidates featuring former Arkansas governor and 2008 presidential candidate Mike Huckabee.
She said she wants to get through 2012 and U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell’s re-election in 2014 first.
Here’s what Bailey had to say about Saturday’s fundraising event, which she said raised $70,000 to $80,000.
