Fancy Farm moments: Poking fun at opponents has been a staple of McConnell strategy

Larry Cox, the longtime state director for Republican U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell, said the political “stunts” dreamed up by McConnell and his team have provided the most memorable Fancy Farm moments for him over the years.
One in particular came to mind from McConnell’s campaign for a third term. And it featured a way to poke fun of his Democratic opponent — the current governor, Steve Beshear.
