Democratic Congressional Candidate Bill Adkins gets Ky. FOP endorsement

The Kentucky Fraternal Order of Police endorsed 4th District Democratic congressional nominee Bill Adkins over Republican Thomas Massie in the open Northern Kentucky district, the group announced Thursday.

The organization represents 9,500 professional law enforcement officers and officials across Kentucky.

Adkins, a Williamstown attorney, said he was honored by the endorsement.

“Police officers and first responders have made their decision about whom they trust to represent their interests in Washington, D.C. It is with gratitude I accept this endorsement and I will make certain these professionals have the resources they need to do their jobs,” Adkins said in a statement.

The 4th Congressional District covers an area from the Louisville suburbs northward along the Ohio River to the West Virginia border. In addition, new areas of the district include Shelby County, northern Spencer and eastern Jefferson County. The state legislature added those areas as part of the congressional redistricting process in February.

Adkins is president of the Grant County Bar Association, a member of the board of directors of the Northern Kentucky Bar Association, and is the Grant County Law Library Treasurer.
