Bob Farmer, a Louisville Democrat, said he is basing his run for office on his marketing experience.

Farmer is a humorist and representative for the Farmer’s Almanac. He said his marketing experience — working for a bank in the 1970s — would allow him to better promote Kentucky agriculture.

He said the Kentucky Proud program Republican Commissioner of Agriculture Richie Farmer started to promote food grown in Kentucky.
