Delegates at RNC, DNC check politics at the door for house for veteran

Not all the hammering at the parties’ national conventions has been against the other side.

Democratic delegates this week have been taking shifts building half a house that will go to the family of a veteran of Iraq or Afghanistan. Republican delegates constructed the first half last week during their convention in Tampa.

It’s through a national non-profit program called Rebuilding Together, which is trying to expand its footprint in Kentucky beyond its existing affiliate in Paducah.

Here’s a look at the home they’ve been building, including the work a couple Kentuckians did.
