Bill increasing consent age passes House

FRANKFORT- The Kentucky House passed a bill increasing the age of consent for teenagers when having sex with adults. House Bill 101, dubbed “Jenna’s Law”, says that a 16 or 17 year old is unable to give consent to have sexual intercourse with anyone 28 years or older. Adults found in violation of this could be charged with third-degree rape which carries a one to five year prison sentence.
