Bevin administration will not release cost of pension reform bill

FRANKFORT — State Budget Director John Chilton says the state will not be releasing the cost of the 505 page pension reform bill as it stands.

Members of the Kentucky Retirements Systems were due to hear a report from a consultant on Monday detailing the cost of the reforms to the taxpayers, and how changes would affect pension plans within KRS.

“When we release the numbers we want them to be the right numbers,” Chilton told reporters at the meeting on Monday.

Chilton told reporters the numbers would not be released, because the plan is a “draft” and the pension reform bill would be changing in the coming days and weeks.
