Beshear announces candidacy for governor in 2019

LOUISVILLE — Attorney General Andy Beshear made his first campaign stop for the 2019 race for the Democratic gubernatorial primary in Louisville on Monday morning, with a message focused on teachers and the future of Kentucky.

The Louisville announcement on Monday morning was the first for Beshear, and his running mate, Jacqueline Coleman, an educator and founder of non-profit LEAD Kentucky — a program that recruits and trains college women in an effort to build the next generation of leaders. The slate planned seven stops across the Commonwealth on Monday and Tuesday to announce their campaign.

Education will be a major cornerstone in the campaign, and Coleman said teachers and rural communities are hurting.

Beshear is the only declared candidate in the race that is expected to draw multiple top tier Democrats. But one candidate on the Republican side who has yet to declare a race is Governor Matt Bevin, who first won office in 2015.

The Republican Party of Kentucky reacted to Beshear’s candidacy for the governorship in 2019.

“I’m glad Andy Beshear has announced his candidacy so early,” RPK Communications Director Tres Watson said. “It will allow us to remind Kentuckians voting both this fall and next of the sort of corrupt, pay-to-play scandal ridden government they can expect if Democrats are elected.”

Republicans, as indicated in the statement, are expected to focus on instances of corruption by Democrats. They’re also trying to tie former Deputy Attorney General Tim Longmeyer, who was also the former Personnel Cabinet Secretary, to Beshear.

Longmeyer is serving a federal prison sentence for bribery during his time in office.
Some of the money Longmeyer was kicked back is in Beshear’s former campaign coffers, and he’s pledged to donate that money after an audit.

Beshear also offered a position on Monday, on how the state should address billions in underfunding for the pension systems. The Attorney General said he thinks Kentuckians would be supportive of expanded gaming as a way to pay down that debt, and ensure viability in the program in the years to come.

I feel sorry for Tim Longmeyer’s kids. Not only is their Dad in prison but now his name will be all over radio and tv. The real question for Andy is this…Exactly what made Longmeyer your choice for chief deputy in the Beshear AG office?

Where is Geoff Young? Come on, it’s been almost two months since the people of Kentucky have had the opportunity to reject Geoff his conspiracy theories, mean spirited name calling, and issue that most people don’t care about.

Andy Beshear is so mind numbingly boring at least Geoff will provide done entertainment before he loses again.

Andy Beshear has fought for working Kentuckians since being elected. THAT IS HIS JOB!!!!! The Republican Party has fought against working Kentuckians since Lying Matt Bevin was swept into office. Cuts to education at EVERY level, cuts to workers wages via repeal of prevailing wage, repeal of State Employees Retirement Plan, to name a few. The weird thing to me is that people will ridicule Andy Beshear and probably re-elect Republicans to every office. Go figure. And hopefully Tres Watson will remind Kentucky voters of the corruption in President Trumps organization, with all of the convictions and guilty pleas coming straight from Washington Republicans.

“Cuts to education at EVERY level”
    Really? LOL.

“cuts to workers wages via repeal of prevailing wage”
Ah, yes, that old relic of the Jim Crow South to keep minorities out of employment.

“repeal of State Employees Retirement Plan”
This never occurred. Although, major changes for future retirees will have to take place one way or the other due to the fact the Democrats have stolen and spent their retirement as revenue to the general fund for decades. But of course, you blame that on Republicans.

“And hopefully Tres Watson will remind Kentucky voters of the corruption in President Trumps organization, with all of the convictions and guilty pleas coming straight from Washington Republicans.”
Really? There have been some guilty pleas entered for things which have nothing to do with Trump’s organization or campaign and none at all from “Washington Republicans.”

Plain and simple…Bevin may or may not be running. Republicans with any sense (of course, few these days) better get behind a credible candidate (also few these days) and like yesterday. Bevin doesn’t really give a rat’s * about the Republican Party and has only used them to further his own interests. So, if he doesn’t run, the GOP has someone. IF he does run, then goodbye to the Republicans occupying the mansion. Bevin and his off the cuff comments, repeated lies, and scorched earth policies (along with horrible staff from his own office into cabinets), will cost him AND the GOP. Now, let’s watch and see if even the few any sense see this and take action…

Andy Beshear (D) is one of the most corrupt politicians in the Commonwealth, and Alison Lundergan Grimes (D) is another. I’ll be running for Governor too, and I look forward to crushing both of those Undemocratic, unindicted, primary-election-rigging, primary-election-stealing felons in the primary. The worst thing about corrupt “Democrats” is that it’s foolish to believe anything they say. They can’t be trusted.

I need a running mate. If you’re interested in becoming the next Lt. Governor, feel free to call me at (859) 278-4966.
