Democrat Adam Edelen pledged to bring a fresh eye and a tireless, youthful approach to Frankfort as the next auditor.

Edelen defeated Republican John Kemper with 55.7 percent of the vote to 44.3 percent, according to preliminary results.

“If you give me the opportunity to fight for you every day — watching your back and watching your wallet … ladies and gentlemen I promised if you gave me that opportunity I would make you proud,” Edelen said in his acceptance speech.
