A new road and a Democratic governor in a GOP race?
05/13/2010 04:52 PM
Boone County’s Republican Judge Executive Gary Moore is scheduled to appear with Democratic Gov. Steve Beshear on Friday, four days before Moore faces Cathy Flaig in a Republican primary.
Moore, Beshear and Florence Mayor Diane Whalen will be participating in the groundbreaking of the new Mall Road in Florence — a project that’s been in the works for quite some time around the growing retail center.
But it raises the question: Does the popularity of that project or the potential political hit of appearing with a Democratic governor will help or hurt Moore — or have any effect? Flaig, a county commissioner, has been running an agressive challenge against Moore.
