The statewide races remain roughly where they were a month and a half ago, according to the latest cn|2 Poll, with Democratic candidates holding advantages in each race. Gov. Steve Beshear and running mate Jerry Abramson maintain a 28-point lead over the Republican ticket of David Williams and Richie Farmer, 54 percent to 26 percent, according to the cn|2 Poll taken Oct. 17-19. Democratic Gov. Steve Beshear, who has been running ads for most of the summer, leads in the governor’s race by nearly 29 points, according to a snapshot of the race from the cn|2 Poll. Democrats running for the other statewide offices in the November election start with leads in the first general election cn|2 Poll, with the race for state auditor starting as the closest contest. After airing ads for the last three weeks, Democratic Gov. Steve Beshear posted a 21-point lead over the Republican challenger David Williams, according to the latest cn|2 Poll. Beshear and his running mate, Jerry Abramson, received 51% of support compared to just under 30% for Williams and his running mate, Agriculture Commissioner Richie Farmer. The races for the Republican nominations for state auditor, secretary of state and agriculture commissioner remain wide open with between 60% and 70% of likely GOP voters polled for cn|2 saying they’re undecided.
