The statewide races remain roughly where they were a month and a half ago, according to the latest cn|2 Poll, with Democratic candidates holding advantages in each race.
Gov. Steve Beshear and running mate Jerry Abramson maintain a 28-point lead over the Republican ticket of David Williams and Richie Farmer, 54 percent to 26 percent, according to the cn|2 Poll taken Oct. 17-19. Democratic Gov. Steve Beshear, who has been running ads for most of the summer, leads in the governor’s race by nearly 29 points, according to a snapshot of the race from the cn|2 Poll.
Beshear and running mate Jerry Abramson have widened the margin by eight points from the first general election cn|2 Poll from June.

Democrats running for the other statewide offices in the November election start with leads in the first general election cn|2 Poll, with the race for state auditor starting as the closest contest.
Attorney General Jack Conway and state Treasurer Todd Hollenbach are the only incumbents running for re-election, other than Gov. Steve Beshear.

After airing ads for the last three weeks, Democratic Gov. Steve Beshear posted a 21-point lead over the Republican challenger David Williams, according to the latest cn|2 Poll.
Beshear and his running mate, Jerry Abramson, received 51% of support compared to just under 30% for Williams and his running mate, Agriculture Commissioner Richie Farmer. The independent ticket of Gatewood Galbraith and Dea Riley polled at below 6%, and nearly 14% said they were undecided.

The only GOP ticket to air ads so far in this election has a solid lead in the Republican primary for governor but more than a third of likely GOP voters surveyed still say they haven’t made up their minds, the latest cn|2 Poll shows.

The races for the Republican nominations for state auditor, secretary of state and agriculture commissioner remain wide open with between 60% and 70% of likely GOP voters polled for cn|2 saying they’re undecided.

Kentuckians surveyed in this week’s cn|2 Poll largely split over whether the state was headed in the right direction or the wrong track.
And by a nearly a five-point margin, those Kentuckians surveyed said they most trust Democrats to handle the Kentucky government’s budget. About 42.3% of the 804 respondents picked Democrats compared to 37.4% for Republicans and a total of 6% were unsure or didn’t respond, according to the poll results.

The first poll of Kentucky’s 2011 attorney general’s race shows that Jack Conway — after running two statewide races — begins with a nearly 20-point advantage over Republican challenger Todd P’Pool.
P’Pool, the 37-year-old Hopkins County Attorney, is making his first statewide run and, in fact, his first campaign outside of Hopkins County where he was the first Republican to win county-wide office since the Civil War.
