Attorney General Andy Beshear is sending nearly $2.8 million received in a settlement with Volkswagen to the state’s general fund. Beshear announced the move Monday, more than five months after both sides settled a lawsuit filed in March regarding the German automaker’s misrepresentation of its “clean diesel” technology. Some 3,200 affected Kentucky customers are eligible for buybacks or vehicular improvements from the company plus at least $5,100 in restitution, which Beshear’s office estimated in June could cost Volkswagen...
