With stars gone to the NFL, can UK's defense still improve in 2015?

LEXINGTON — Behind NFL-bound talents Alvin “Bud” Dupree Jr. and Za’Darius Smith, big expectations awaited the University of Kentucky’s defense before the start of the 2014 season.
But a combination of injuries and inconsistency caused the Wildcats to fall short, finishing a ho-hum No. 75 in the nation in total defense (406.9 yards per game) and an even worse No. 93 in scoring defense (31.3 points per game).
With Dupree and Smith now playing on Sundays in the pros, will Stoops’ troops still have what it takes to improve the defense in time for a bowl run in 2015?
