Wildcats are taken to the limit

If you looked only at the final score, you’d think Top ranked Kentucky had a comfortable game against Columbia. Nothing could be further from the truth. The Lions scored the first 11 points of the game and led UK at the half 25-23. In fact the Wildcats did not grab their first lead until more than six minutes into the SECOND half.
However once the nation’s top ranked team took the advantage, they did not give it up. Aaron Harrison scored 14 points and Willie Cauley-Stein finished with a double-double (10 points and 10 rebounds) as UK rallied to beat Columbia 56-46. The 10 point margin of victory was the closest game Kentucky has played all season. However the Wildcats will take it. With the win Big Blue improves to 10-0 while the Lions fall to 5-3.
The schedule really picks up between now and the end of 2014. Kentucky’s next three games are Saturday at home against number 21 North Carolina, in Chicago on December 20th against UCLA, and then in the YUM Center on December 27th at 4th ranked Louisville. The game against the Tar Heels on Saturday tips off at noon and can be seen on your local CBS station.
