Wildcat TV Guide: What To Watch This Weekend For UK Fans

09/20/2013 01:45 PM

Without a UK football game to watch, this weekend is looking pretty empty. Fill it with NFL games featuring former Wildcats. Here are the three marquee games you should watch.

Green Bay at Cincinnati…1 p.m. ET

Randall Cobb. Randall Cobb. Randall Cobb. All of Big Blue Nation should be on the lookout for Randall Cobb, and it probably won’t be long before we see him action come Sunday. He is the leading receiver for the Packers with back-to-back consistent, solid performances. In just two games, Cobb caught for 236 yards and two touchdowns. But don’t forget about punter Tim Masthay. The former UK punter is averaging 44.2 yards per punt, forcing opposing defenses to drive even further to the end zone.

Buffalo at New York Jets…4:25 p.m. ET

Buffalo Bills’ wide receiver Steve Johnson is starting the year out right. He’s the leading receiver for Buffalo, catching 11 passes for 150 yards over the first two games. He has a touchdown per game and averages over 13 yards per catch. Definitely worth watching on your Sunday afternoon.

Oakland at Denver…Monday 8:30 p.m. ET

Time to turn our attention to defense. Former wildcats Wesley Woodyard and Danny Trevathan are turning into a one-two punch for the Broncos at linebacker. Combined, the duo are responsible for 31 tackles, 1.5 sacks and 1 interception for Denver. Add in Peyton Manning on the offensive side of the ball, and the Broncos are a fun team to watch this season.
