The 2017 UK Athletics Hall of Fame class was announced on Monday morning and it features former Kentucky basketball star John Wall.

Wall was in John Calipari’s first recruiting class at Kentucky that changed the landscape of college basketball. He accomplished a lot in his lone season in Lexington:

  • First national player of the year in program history as winner of the Adolph Rupp Trophy … Named 2010 USBWA National Freshman of the Year … Consensus first-team All-American … 2010 SEC Player of the Year by Associated Press and SEC Coaches … SEC Freshman of the Year by the AP … First-team All-SEC … Named SEC Tournament MVP … Led UK to a No. 1 national ranking, SEC regular-season championship and the SEC Tournament championship … Set single-season assists record with 241 assists (broken 2016 by Tyler Ulis) … Averaged 16.6 points and 6.5 assists … First No. 1 overall NBA Draft pick in UK history

What makes John Wall a Hall of Famer? We ask Mark Krebs, his former Kentucky teammate.
