Vince Marrow recruiting "tough, blue-collar guys" to Kentucky

LEXINGTON – Entering his third year at the University of Kentucky, football recruiting coordinator Vince Marrow has helped Mark Stoops land three consecutive top-35 recruiting classes.

But possibly the greatest commitment Marrow secured was his own this season.

After filling the head coaching vacancy at the University of Michigan, Jim Harbaugh aggressively courted Marrow during the off-season to help him battle rival Urban Meyer and Ohio State for the top recruits in Ohio.

And who could blame him?

Marrow, who is also Kentucky’s tight ends coach, had signed 21 players from the Buckeye State since 2013.

But in the end, Marrow chose to spurn Big Blue to stay with Big Blue Nation and had added another whopping 11 commitments from the state of Ohio for the 2016 class.

KSTV sat down 1-on-1 with Marrow this week to discuss his decision to stay at UK, his success on the recruiting trail, and his expectations for his numerous recruits next season.
