The University of Kentucky along with it’s partner Kroger, announced a new initiative that includes donating funds to renovate community fields in Kentucky each year.

This year’s inaugural $25,000 award will go to projects at Castlewood Park and Kirklevington Park in Lexington. Officials says these parks were chosen after an evaluation process by a committee of UK football alumnus Jeremy Jarmon; UK softball head coach Rachel Lawson; UK football alumnus and current staff member Freddie Maggard; plus representatives from UK Athletics, Kroger, and UK Sports and Campus Marketing.
