Kentucky was able to overcome some early defensive lapses to pull out the victory over Vanderbilt 71-63. Coach Mitchell contributed that to strong leadership from PG Taylor Murray who had a full stat sheet with 18 points, 7 assists, 5 rebounds and 5 steals in 39 minutes.
The Wildcats regrouped from the loss to South Carolina on Thursday and came out with the intention of disrupting Vanderbilt and they did just that, forcing Vanderbilt into 21 turnovers.
Makayla Epps led the Wildcats in scoring with 23 points along with 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Evelyn Akhator had 20 points for the Wildcats while pulling down 8 rebounds.
The Wildcats improved to 16-8 (7-4 Sec) and will travel to Georgia on Thursday to take on the Bulldogs at 7pm.
