UK WOMEN'S BASKETBALL | Kentucky wins third in a row

The Kentucky Wildcats (12-11, 4-5 SEC) defeated the Auburn Tigers (11-10, 2-7 SEC) 65-48 on Thursday night in Memorial Coliseum to win their third straight SEC game.

After a slow start in the first quarter Kentucky was able to find a little offense in the second quarter to head into halftime with a four point lead. The Wildcats had another strong fourth quarter to pull away from the Tigers after going in to the quarter with a four point lead, the Wildcats go on a 23-10 run to finish the game.

Junior guard Maci Morris became the 33rd player in program history with 1,000 career points in the first half after hitting two three back-to-back. Morris finished the game leading the Cats in scoring with 18 points, shooting 5-7 from three point range. Senior forward Alyssa Rice had a nice night with 11 points and 9 rebounds after stuggling through January.

Kentucky will next host LSU on Sunday at Rupp Arena with the tipoff set for 7 p.m. ET.
