There seemed to be a little more pep in the Wildcats’ step on Sunday in Rupp Arena as they took on #10 South Carolina. But the Gamecocks seemed to have the answer with the return of Senior forward A’ja Wilson after recovering from an injury.

Kentucky (9-11, 1-5 SEC) lost to #10 South Carolina (16-3, 5-2 SEC) 64-81. The Wildcats were led by senior guard Maci Morris with 19 points and guard Taylor Murray with 17 points.

The Wildcats trailed the Gamecocks 13-12 at the end of the first quarter but the inside game of South Carolina took over and extended the lead to 34-20 at halftime. A’ja Wilson finished with 26 points in only 21 minutes and former Wildcat forward Alexis Jennings added 17 points and 8 rebounds.

UK freshman forward Keke Jennings added 12 points with 7 rebounds and freshman center Dorie Harrison had 11 points and 7 rebounds. Freshman forward Tatyana Wyatt sat out the game while in concussion protocol from being injured during practice.
