Kentucky fans hope that when it’s all said and done, the Wildcats will be cutting down the nets in New Orleans in the season’s final tournament. But thanks to a physical win over Old Dominion Sunday in Connecticut, this team claimed victory in their first.

The Cats held off an Old Dominion team that didn’t appear too worn down from an overtime win over South Florida the day before and played a physical game. Senior Darius Miller, scoreless the day before against Penn State, scored 13 points, a team-high he shared with freshman Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, who also had 9 rebounds. Freshman Anthony Davis added 11 points and 9 boards, while sophomore star Terrence Jones finished with 6 points, 8 rebounds and 5 blocks.
