LEXINGTON — Big Blue Nation: Are you still alive and breathing???

Sophomore point guard Tyler Ulis poured in 21 points and a game-high eight assists to lead the No. 11 Kentucky Wildcats to a dramatic 75-73 victory over archrival No. 15 Louisville on Saturday afternoon in front of a raucous crowd at Rupp Arena.

In a matchup that featured big runs, big shots, and technicals called on both coaches, the Wildcats (10-2, 10-0 home) made four triples in the final six minutes to hold off a furious Louisville rally to secure their fourth consecutive win over the Cardinals and remain unbeaten at home this season.

Louisville (10-2, 0-2 road) trailed by as many as 16 points in the second half but still had a chance to tie or win the game on the final possession.

Down two in the final seconds, graduate transfer Damion Lee elected to attempt a contested three-pointer from the corner as time expired, but the heave fell well short of the rim to seal the Cardinals’ eighth loss to the Wildcats in their last 10 meetings.

Lee finished with a game-high 27 points for Louisville, combining with fellow graduate transfer Trey Lewis to score 42 of the Cardinals’ 73 points.

UK trailed 34-30 with 2:52 left before halftime, but the Wildcats closed the half on a 14-2 run to take a 44-36 advantage into the locker room. UK led for the rest of the game.

Kentucky, who entered the matchup shooting just 30% from distance on the season (No. 311 in Division I), connected on 11-23 (48%) three-point attempts against Louisville, including four from Ulis and a trio of triples from both Jamal Murray and Dominique Hawkins.

After starting guard Isaiah Briscoe was ruled out for the game after suffering an ankle injury during warmups, Hawkins came through with the best game of his UK career. The Kentucky native scored a career-high 13 points of the bench, including the final two free throws that gave the Cats their winning margin.

Next Up: Kentucky gets another week off before opening SEC play with a home tilt against Ole Miss on January 2. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET with game broadcast available on the SEC Network.
