UK VS. SOUTH CAROLINA | Wildcats run wild for 24-7 halftime lead

COLUMBIA, S.C. — The Wildcats ran wild in the first half en route to a 24-7 halftime lead on the road at South Carolina.

Kentucky outgained the Gamecocks 306-161, including a balanced 156 yards on the ground and 151 through the air.

Junior running back Jojo Kemp did his best 2014 impersonation, rushing 11 times for 72 yards and a touchdown, followed closely by sophomore Boom Williams with 67 yards on nine carriers.

After throwing an interception an UK’s first possession that led to a 7-0 South Carolina lead, junior quarterback Patrick Towles finished the half completing 12 of his last 14 passes.

Sophomore Mikel Horton scored Kentucky’s first touchdown of the game on a five-yard run but did not return to the field in the second quarter due to an apparent neck injury.
