UK survives scare from Mississippi State

“Yeah, we did alright.”
Those were the first words John Calipari uttered to the media after UK’s win over Mississippi State and they summed up the evening pretty perfectly.
After a sluggish start to the game, the Cats pushed out to a double-digit lead and eventually took that lead to 20 points early in the second half. But much like they’ve done throughout the season, UK allowed Mississippi State to claw their way back into the game and led the Bulldogs by only 3 with 37 seconds left. Tyler Ulis and Alex Poythress would combine for six straight free throws though and UK held on to an 80-74 victory.
Ulis finished the game with 21 points, 5 assists and 3 rebounds, while Jamal Murray and Isaiah Briscoe combined for another 35 points.
