The top ranked team in the land got a much tougher test from Boston University than nationally ranked Kansas. On Tuesday, the Cats pounded the 5th ranked Jayhawks 72-40, but Friday Night at Rupp Arena, in the second half, UK had a very slim 46-44 lead over defending Patriot league champion Boston University. Then the Wildcats went on a 12-2 run to get some breathing room, eventually pulling away late in the game for the 89-65 victory.
The Cats maintained their two platoon system, although head coach John Calipari did abandon it temporarily. However in the end 10 players scored for Kentucky, led by Aaron Harrison’s 19 points and Devin Booker who added 15 points and 7 assists. With the victory, Kentucky improves to 4-0 while the Terriers drop to 1-2. The Wildcats next game is Sunday at 6pm ET, when they host Montana State. The game will be televised on the SEC Network.
