UK Spring Football Preview: Should Towles Start?

The first six games of 2014 were great for Kentucky’s new starter at quarterback, Patrick Towles.
The redshirt sophomore led the Wildcats to a 5-1 start that included wins against Vanderbilt and South Carolina, and his lone lose came in triple overtime at The Swamp in Florida.
But the second half of the season was not as kind, finishing on a six-game losing streak that included close loses to then #1 Mississippi State and rival Louisville.
Despite Towles already having a year of experience under his belt, Kentucky’s new offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson says the quarterback competition will be an open one when spring practices begin this Saturday.
In the first installment of our UK Spring Ball Preview, the KSTV crew breaks down the signal caller position and whether Towles will find himself back under center in 2015.
