The UK women’s soccer team hosted its annual Media Day on Tuesday. It is the first season under new head coach Ian Carry, who has already been with the program for four seasons as an assistant coach.

Carry says that he has already been able to pinpoint some of his team’s strengths heading into preseason play.

The roster this year includes three international players — freshman midfielders Yuuka Kurosaki (Japan), Hollie Olding (United Kingdom) and Sophie Stewart-Hobbs (New Zealand). When asked if their international recruitment signals a trend, Carry says the strength of the team is always top priority.
