The UK basketball team was 1,000 miles from home, but the result was just the same in front of a very pro-UK crowd in Miami. Despite a sluggish start, the Cats rolled past the USF Bulls and former UK assistant Orlando Antigua, 84-63 at American Airlines Arena.
John Calipari said for the past couple of weeks that he wanted to see his team improve their three-point shooting and they were able to do that against the Bulls, connecting on 6-13 from deep. Two of those came from Jamal Murray, who led the team with 21 points, to go along with 3 rebounds and 3 assists. Skal Labisierre chipped in 17 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 blocks, while Alex Poythress and Charles Matthews combined for 19 points off the bench.
Sophomore point guard Tyler Ulis left the game with a hyperextended right elbow and did not return. There is no update as of now.
