LEXINGTON — After four long summer months, the offseason is finally over, and Kentucky Football is back in session.

After kicking off the first practice of fall camp on Thursday, the Wildcats addressed the press on Friday at their annual UK Media Day, and the coaching staff could not hide its excitement to be back on the gridiron.

“It’s great to get started,” head coach Mark Stoops told the over 100 media members in attendance. “As you know, I’m tired of the talking season and anxious to get started with football.”

“I’m excited; that’s my opening statement,” first-year offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson said while sporting a big grin. “I’m ready to get going. The summer rolls around, and when football season comes around, it gives everybody a reason to live — especially me. I get up with a little more pep in my step … We’re ready to roll.
