UK hopes to put words into action against Kansas State

With tip off just hours away, the spotlight shines brighter and brighter on the Kentucky Wildcats.
The team’s sole focus is on second round foe Kansas State (20-12, 10-8 Big 12). While the purple-clad Wildcats from the Midwest don’t have the front-court size of UK, they do play a brand of very physical basketball. The Cats hope to exploit their size advantage, but they’re preparing for a cat fight in the paint.
Of course, confidence is key heading into NCAA tournament play, and a strong showing at the SEC Tournament has rejuvenated this UK team. The loss in the SEC Tournament Championship game to Florida was a heart breaker for the Cats, but it was also a moment to build on. As the guys get set for Kansas State, they feel this team has turned the corner.
With the ultimate goal of cutting down the nets in Dallas, emotions run high for coaches and players alike in the NCAA Tournament. For some, it’s a business trip. But for others, especially the freshmen, the first-time experiencing March Madness is both nerve racking and exciting.
Kentucky and Kansas State are scheduled to tip off at 9:40 on CBS. The winner will likely face undefeated Wichita State in the Round of 32, Sunday.
