UK FOOTBALL | Week 1 depth chart features 5 freshmen starters

LEXINGTON — The University of Kentucky football team released its Week 1 depth chart on Monday, and four true freshmen will start when the Wildcats face Louisiana Lafayette on Sept. 5:
- C.J. Conrad (TE)
- George Asafo-Adjei (RT)
- Chris Westry (CB)
- Sihiem King (KOR)

Redshirt freshman Denzil Ware is also listed as a the starter at DE/OLB for suspended junior Jason Hatcher.
In total, eight true freshmen and 10 redshirt freshman make the two-deep for Week 1.
Other Things to Note:
- As expected, Stanley “Boom” Williams (Soph.) claims the top running back spot, followed by Jojo Kemp (Soph.) “or” Mikel Horton (Soph.) at No. 2. Kings finishes the position at fourth string.
- Garrett Johnson (Soph.) beat out junior Ryan Timmons for the starting spot at slot receiver. Dorian Baker (Soph.) and Jeff Badet (Soph.) earned the other starting spots for the X and Y receiving positions.
- Ryan Flannigan (Sr.) is listed as tied for the starting weakside linebacker with Khalid Henderson (Sr.) despite missing most of fall camp with a shoulder injury, followed by true freshman Eli Brown.
- Joining King on kickoff return is J.D. Harmon (Jr.) — who’s backing up Westry at cornerback — and Timmons will start at punt return with fellow wide receiver T.V. Williams (Soph.) listed as his backup.
