UK FOOTBALL | Trip to Alabama highlights 2016 schedule

LEXINGTON — An October road trip to Alabama highlights Kentucky Football’s 2016 football schedule, which was revealed on the SEC Network on Thursday evening.

The Wildcats will face the Crimson Tide on October 1st. It will be their first game in Tuscaloosa since 2008.

In all, Kentucky’s 2016 slate includes seven homes games, five road tilts, and four matchups against non-conference opponents. (Southern Miss, New Mexico State, Austin Peay, and Louisville)

UK will open the season at home four the fourth consecutive season on Sept. 3 against Southern Miss of Conference USA.

The Wildcats will also host conference games against South Carolina (Sept. 24), Vanderbilt (Oct. 8), Mississippi State (Oct. 22), and Georgia (Nov. 5) with a home finale against FCS foe Austin Peay (Nov. 19).

Kentucky travels to Florida (Sept. 10), Alabama (Oct. 1), Missouri (Oct. 29), and Tennessee (Nov. 12) before ending the regular season at rival Louisville (Nov. 26).

The Wildcats won’t face back-to-back road games for the first time since 2012.
