LEXINGTON — It looks like Big Blue Nation will be introduced to the new Commonwealth Stadium under the lights.
The UK Athletic Department released the kickoff times and broadcast details for the first three games of the 2015 football season yesterday, and the Wildcats will play all three at night in primetime.
Kentucky will kick the season off at home on Saturday, September 5th, against the Ragin’ Cajuns of UL Lafayette at 7:00 p.m. ET on ESPNU, unveiling its newly-renovated Commonwealth Stadium on national television.
The Wildcats next two games — at South Carolina on September 12th and back home against Florida on September 19th — will also be in primetime with both airing at 7:30 p.m. ET on the SEC Network.
And as if that wasn’t enough, the Southeastern Conference and ESPN also announced yesterday that Kentucky’s Thursday night home game against Auburn on October 15th will kick off at 7:00 p.m. ET on the Mothership — ESPN.
UK’s tilt with the Gamecocks will be the first-ever Thursday night home game in program history.
KSTV discussed the scheduling announcement on Friday’s show, explained how the primetime games help both the BBN fans in attendance as well as Kentucky’s push to increase its national relevance.
