UK Football | Pair of freshmen wide receivers among early standouts in fall camp

08/01/2017 04:29 PM

A pair of freshmen wide receivers, Josh Ali and Isaiah Epps, have been early standouts in fall camp among members of the 2017 class.

Both were three-star prospects coming out of high school. Ali hails from Hollywood, Florida, while Epps comes from Jenks, Oklahoma.

“They really have good footwork to be freshmen,” said wide receivers coach Lamar Thomas at practice Tuesday morning. “Good hands. They can move. They can run. They’ve really been a good addition so far.”

Senior quarterback Stephen Johnson is already developing some chemistry with the young pass-catchers.

“Those guys are doing incredible jobs out there with just their route running and catching the ball,” Johnson said. “They’re just out there really making plays. Those two guys really stand out.”
